In 1928, Juan Torres Casals, second generation of Familia Torres, began the development of vintage brandy aged in oak from the best white wine of Pened��s (Barcelona), picking up on the humanistic legacy of Arnau de Vilanova, a thirteenth-century doctor and theologian. The work of Juan Torres was soon recognized, and his brandies became synonymous with quality.
