Maitake Mushrooms

Maitake, also known as "hen of the woods" is an edible, bracket fungus native to Japan, China, and North America that grows in clustered, fan-shaped layers at the base of trees. Highly prized for 3000-year-old culinary and medicinal uses, it has a rich, earthy, and savory ("umami") flavor with a firm texture.
