The Kateshi Estate in Northern Zambia was one of the first coffee estates in the country and sets a great example of investment in the community. This wet-processed coffee is bright and complex; representing the heart of coffee production in this region. The importer (Covoya) now owns the estate after a period of instability required infrastructure and quality assurance like irrigation systems. They also provide drinking water to over 20,000 locals and support 3+ schools with education needs. Kateshi also boldly challenges gender stereotypes in Zambia by employing women for heavy machine operations; traditionally a male-dominated role.
