⚠️ Trellus will be closed for all deliveries on Christmas Day and New Year's Day so our staff and drivers can enjoy the holidays with their families. Happy and Healthy Holidays.
Trellus Same-Day Local Delivery & Marketplace was spotlighted in a CBS 2 New York segment on jobs numbers, in context of the local economy. The video featured commentary from Trellus co-founder and CEO Adam Haber, and JR Jensen, co-founder and CTO, also made a special cameo as a Trellus same-day delivery driver!
MAURICE DuBOIS and ALICE GAINER, CBS 2 New York anchors:
As vaccination efforts ramped up in February, so too did job numbers across the country. It’s a sign the labor market is recovering one year into the pandemic. So who exactly is hiring? CBS’s Carolyn Gusoff reports from Long Island.
CAROLYN GUSOFF, CBS reporter:
There’s a sweet spot in the pandemic for chocolates, selling so well at COCO Confections in Sea Cliff, they’re hiring.
TERRENCE KENNIFF, COCO Confections and Coffee:
Valentine’s Day was great and Easter starts next. Thankfully, it’s looking like we’re going to need some help here.
GUSOFF:
So is the new same-day local delivery service just for small businesses. Trellus is hiring.
ADAM HABER, Trellus CEO and Co-founder:
Our goal is to drive more business to small businesses so they hire, we hire, and the loop continues endlessly, and Long Island grows.
Adam Haber, Trellus CEO and co-founder, talks to CBS 2 New York at COCO Confections and Coffee in Sea Cliff.
GUSOFF:
In fact, America is hiring in numbers not seen in months. The U.S. Labor Department jobs report showed a surprisingly robust 379,000 jobs added in February, the most since October. The economy strengthening, but still just a fraction of the 10 million jobs lost to the pandemic.
Dr. MARTIN CANTOR, Economist:
The jobs just evaporated. And those are unlikely to come back primarily because, as the Federal Reserve said, they expect 30% of businesses not to reopen.
